A glamorous comeback, a star-studded guest list, and a touch of unexpected weather – welcome to Zimmermann's triumphant return to Los Angeles!
On a rainy Friday night, the City of Angels played host to Zimmermann's Cruise 2026 presentation, and despite the downpour, the event radiated warmth and style. Guests arrived in resort-ready ensembles, a testament to the brand's ability to create a mood, even when the elements had other plans.
Dakota Fanning, Rita Ora, and a host of other celebrities, including Jurnee Smollett, Halle Bailey, Zoey Deutch, and Emma Roberts, graced the Chateau Marmont, navigating a path illuminated by a neon Zimmermann sign – a heart pierced by an arrow – a perfect photo op!
Inside, shielded from the storm, the atmosphere was electric. The sunroom buzzed with the unveiling of the Cruise 2026 collection, martinis and margaritas in hand. Rita Ora stole the show in a white, cutout dress that embodied the collection's "Twisted Romance" theme, inspired by pirate lore and the New Romantics. Dakota Fanning, on the other hand, embodied the softer side of the collection in a flowing silk dress.
"It's cooking behind me," Nicky Zimmermann quipped at dinner, referring to the blazing fireplace, which set the tone for the intimate gathering. The dining area was a vision of elegance, with long tables draped in ivory linens, flickering candlelight, and cascading burgundy flowers.
Joining the stars were Isabela Merced, Maria Bakalova, Bella Heathcote, Beatrice Grannò, Larsen Thompson, and Delaney Rowe, along with models Abby Champion and Sanne Vloet, and stylists Brit Smith, Jessica Paster, Alexandra Mandelkorn, and Annabelle Harron.
"Tonight, for us, it’s about us reconnecting with you guys," Zimmermann shared. It had been eight years since the brand last hosted an event in L.A., a period marked by the collaboration between its Paris and Sydney ateliers.
"We don’t go through L.A. as much as we used to," she admitted. Nicky Zimmermann, the brand's creative director, was joined by her sister, Simone, the chief operating officer, and her husband, Chris Olliver, the chief executive officer. Together, they've built the Zimmermann empire over 34 years.
But here's where it gets interesting... Zimmermann's story is intertwined with L.A. The brand's first store was on Robertson Boulevard, a pivotal starting point that wasn't planned. It was a happy accident that launched them into the fashion world.
Dinner flowed into an after-party, where guests indulged in chocolate bark, madeleines, and canelés. Some relaxed on couches, while others hit the dance floor as the music pulsed and drinks continued to flow.
